The International Cricket Council (ICC) is preparing to hold its upcoming board meeting in Nepal during the Nepal Premier League (NPL) 2026, according to Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) Vice-President Roshan Singh.
Singh said discussions to host the ICC board meeting in Nepal during the NPL have reached an advanced stage, with only a few issues remaining before an official announcement.
“The discussions to hold the ICC board meeting in Nepal in connection with the NPL have reached a certain stage. A few things are still pending, and official information will be announced soon,” Singh said.
He said the visit of ICC representatives would not only boost cricket in Nepal but also have a positive impact on the country’s tourism sector.
Singh said the meeting could be held toward the latter part of the NPL, when only a few matches remain.
“We want to create an environment where, after seeing the cricket atmosphere here, the ICC’s perception of Nepal also changes,” he said.
The third edition of the NPL is scheduled to begin on October 26. Preparations for the tournament are currently underway at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
