Kathmandu, September 11
Monsoon winds are currently influencing weather across the country, with the monsoon low-pressure system positioned slightly south of its average location, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
As a result, the weather is partly to generally cloudy across Nepal. Light to moderate rainfall has been recorded in some areas of Koshi and Gandaki provinces. The Meteorological Forecasting Division predicts that the country will experience similar weather conditions this afternoon.
Light to moderate rain, accompanied by thunder and lightning, is expected in a few areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rainfall is likely in one or two locations in Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
Tonight, the weather will remain partly to generally cloudy, with chances of light to moderate rain, thunder, and lightning in some parts of Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces. Heavy rainfall is also expected in one or two locations in Koshi, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Over the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain, with thunder and lightning, is likely in several areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The Department has advised the public to remain cautious due to the possibility of heavy rainfall in these provinces.
