Head constable held on charge of arson attack on APF headquarters

Kathmandu, December 26

Nepal Police arrested an Armed Police Force head constable for his alleged involvement in an arson attack on the APF headquarters, Halchok, Swayambhu.

A team deployed from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Swayambhu arrested head constable Ram Krishna Shrestha after a probe carried out by Metropolitan Crime Division, according to police.

The Division has formed a team under the command of AIG Prem Shahi for the probe into the incident occurred in a night last week.

It has been suspected that Shrestha set the store of his office on fire so as to destroy some official documents.

Property worth Rs 2.2 million was destroyed in the incident, according to APF spokesperson Baburam Pandey.

Further investigation is underway.
