The government will provide Rs 1.5 billion in subsidies to sugarcane farmers.
The private secretariat of Minister for Agriculture, Forests and Environment Gita Chaudhary said she approved the procedure for providing incentives to sugarcane farmers on Thursday.
The ministry said the subsidies would be distributed to farmers in Bardiya, Rautahat, Kailali and Kanchanpur districts.
The government has been providing an annual subsidy of Rs 70 per quintal to sugarcane farmers.
