Rautahat, March 3

Coordinator of Communist Party of Nepal Revolutionary Maoist, a splinter Maoist group, CP Gajurel has accused the current government of supporting institutional corruption.

Gajurel, who was speaking at a programme in Rautahat, said that the government of supporting those involved in the wide-body procurement case arguing that the government was working with the Public Accounts Committee to protect those involved in the case.

He also argued that PM KP Sharma Oli had no right to announce that deceased minister Rabindra Adhikari was innocent in the wide-body procurement case. “He should not be saying things. He should not have disregarded the views of the PAC and formed a different commission to look into the case,” Gajurel argued.

Gajurel also said that rather than providing basic needs to its citizens, the government was instead providing for the corrupt and the criminals. He also criticised the government for increasing taxes.
