The government has taken four measures and made preparations in response to flooding coming from the Tibet region.

The measures and preparations are:

  1. The Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and Nepal Police have been mobilised for rescue and relief operations.
  2. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority has been activated.
  3. Chief district officers (CDOs) have been instructed to immediately relocate residents of downstream areas to safer locations.
  4. All helicopters have been placed on standby for possible rescue and relief operations.

The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers said these four measures are part of the government’s preparedness.

Meanwhile, residents living along riverbanks in Rasuwа, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan districts have been urged to remain alert as the Bhote Koshi River has swollen due to flooding.
