Government to hold first-ever meeting with political parties and Gen Z

Kathmandu, October 29

To create a conducive environment for the House of Representatives election, the government has decided for the first time to hold discussions with political parties and the Gen Z generation.

For this purpose, the government has called a tripartite meeting today. The meeting, scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar, will include representatives from political parties and the Gen Z group.

Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel said that this is the first-ever joint meeting between the government, political parties, and the Gen Z generation to foster an election-friendly atmosphere.

He added that the government has been holding a series of talks and consultations with political parties and other concerned stakeholders to ensure the success of the upcoming election. Earlier, on October 20, the government had held discussions with political parties.

At the all-party meeting called by Prime Minister Sushila Karki, all sides had expressed a positive commitment to create a favorable environment and conduct the election within the stipulated timeframe.

In the meantime, several formal talks and dialogues have also taken place. The government expects that this renewed political dialogue after a long gap will help in building an environment conducive to the elections.
