Gold prices have set a new record in Nepal in the aftermath of the assassination of an Iranian general by a US drone in Iraq on Friday.
Hallmark gold, which was being traded at Rs Rs 75,500 per tola on Sunday, was traded at Rs 76,000 on Monday. The price of gold set new records on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“Investors rush to buy gold during a period of war to divest from cash and shares and the demand for gold picks up due to that,” says Nepal gold-silver association’s general secretary Dharma Sundar Bajracharya.
