Former lawmaker Dahal dies

Kathmandu, September 20

Former NCP leader and lawmaker Bairagi Dahal has died at the age of 62 in Kathmandu on Friday.

Dahal was elected lawmaker from the Sankhuwasabha constituency- 2 during the 1994  mid-term elections from the erstwhile Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist Leninist).

Dahal, known for campaigning for promoting small hydropower projects, had been suffering from ‘cholesterol’ issues, informed family member Yogendra Bijay Dahal.

He breathed his last on Friday morning at Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Center, Maharajgunj. He was born on November 13, 1957 to Phalgukumari and Yagyaratna Dahal at Madi rural municipality-5 in Sankhuwasabha. He is survived by his wife, two daughters and one son.
