Former Gurkhas announce protests demanding various benefits

Kathmandu, March 25

Members of the Gurkha Army Ex-servicemen Association’s Organisation (GAESO) have announced protests demanding various benefits for servicemen and their children.

The protesters are demanding dual citizenship, pension at par with their British counterparts, unconditional visa for their children and life-long pension for the widows, among others.

GAESO President Krishna Kumar Rai said that as part of the agitation, the organisation will present a memorandum to the British Prime Minister, hold demonstrations outside of the Prime Minister’s Office and organise rallies in different parts of the UK.
It says that the organisation will announce more stringent protests if its demands are not met by June 1.
