A forest fire started at Chishankhugadhi area in Okhaldhunga district is not brought under control yet.

The fire has already destroyed hundreds of hectares of community and private forests in the past three days.

The Division Forest Office Chief Gyan Kumar Lama says the officials are assessing the damages caused by the forest fire.

The security personnel are making their efforts to douse the forest and protecting the human settlements and telecommunication towers from catching the fire.

More than 60 security personnel have been deployed to control the fire in different areas.

However, the security personnel have faced difficulties to contain the fire for lack of sufficient water supply.

DSP Govinda Raj Kafle says the fire is not brought under control yet despite their continuous efforts. “The personnel are working to protect the human settlement now. The fire is ongoing in the forest area,” DSP Kafle shares.
