Fifty-five foreign nationals have been deported from Nepal in the last three months.

According to the data of the Immigration Department, nearly half of those deported are Chinese nationals. The department said 21 Chinese nationals have been deported in the past three months.

The majority of these foreign nationals have been deported due to their engagement in unlawful activities and their failure to leave the country despite the expiration of their visas.

The department said seven Americans were deported in the past three months. Similarly, four people from Yemen, three from the UK and two each from South Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Cameroon, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been deported

According to the department, one person each from Bhutan, Ghana, Iran, Italy, Portugal, France, Sudan, Canada and Germany were also deported.
