FNCCI President stresses on joint efforts for development

Kathmandu, April 13

Newly-elected President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) Bhawani Rana says the government and the private sector should jointly strive to take the country on the path to development.

Saying that the FNCCI was working for the social and economic development of the country, she said it would also engage in efforts to create employment opportunities for the youth.

Rana, who was speaking at a programme in Kathmandu, pledged top continued FNCCI’s previous projects and drive them forward by adapting them to the new federal setup she said.

“We (FNCCI) will work on the project to construct smart cities in all seven provinces in collaboration with the Ministry of Urban Development.”

FNCCI Senior Vice-president Shekhar Golchha said the organisation will now undertake development endeavors the days ahead. He pledged to end the culture of factionalism within the organisation and run it effectively.

Associate Vice President Chandra Dhakal insisted on the need to cultivate a cordial relationship between labour and entrepreneurs to get a better outcome in the business sector.

Similarly, FNCCI treasurer Gyanendra Lal Shrestha pledged to operate its fund in a transparent manner.
