
Kathmandu, June 6
The fire that broke out in Bamka Bazaar, Budhiganga Municipality–6 of Bajura, has destroyed the entire market area.
According to Mayor Ram Bahadur Baniya, more than 40 shops have been burnt down in the fire.
Talking to Onlinekhabar from the spot, Baniya informed, “It’s a massive fire. At least 40 shops have been completely destroyed. The extent of the damage has not yet been confirmed.”
He added that there were no human casualties. He also mentioned that the municipality does not have a fire engine.
He further said, “Since we don’t have a fire engine, efforts are being made to control the fire using a bulldozer and water tankers. The fire is close to being brought under control.”
According to the District Police Office, Bajura, the fire started when a gas cylinder exploded at the Nava Durga Hotel, Bamka Bazaar.
According to the police, the fire broke out at 3:55 PM.
