Kathmandu, January 16

The government of Nepal has decided to close film halls, gyms and private tuition classes too until January 29, considering the increasing number of Covid-19 cases in the country.

Before this, the government has already closed schools until this period whereas the largest university in the country, Tribhuvan University, has also directed its colleges to suspend their physical classes.

The government spokesperson, Communications Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, informs on Sunday the cabinet meeting held on Friday made the decision.

The government has also decided to close college classes also until the date if they are not closed so far, according to Karki.

The government also decided to limit the number of people inside a shopping mall or a department store at once at 25 whereas a party venue can host 50 people at a time. The party venues, however, need to obtain a permit from the concerned chief district officer.
