Kathmandu, August 25
Dinesh Pokharel has been elected unopposed as president of the Everest Summiteers Association.
A new executive committee was elected unanimously at the Everest Summiteers Association’s election held on Tuesday.
Along with Pokharel as president, Diki Sherpa was elected first vice-president, Madan Kumar Chudal second vice-president and Shiva Sapkota general secretary.
Chhoki Sherpa has been elected secretary, while Wangda Sherpa has been elected treasurer. Lakpa Yangji Sherpa and Pasang Lhamu Sherpa were elected as members.
The association celebrated its silver jubilee this year.
