Elephants in the Fog has been selected to represent Nepal at the 99th Academy Awards (Oscars).
The International Feature Film Selection Committee (Nepal) received two Nepali narrative films, Elephants in the Fog (Tiniharu) and Gauthali, for consideration to compete in the 99th Academy Awards (Oscar Awards), to be announced by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 2027.
After a thorough evaluation of both films based on technical aspects, storytelling, emotional analysis of characters, and artistic craftsmanship, and in accordance with the Academy’s standards for selecting a single high-quality and excellent film, the film Elephants in the Fog (Tiniharu) has been chosen to represent Nepal as a contender for the said award.
