Kathmandu, October 8
Dr Govinda KC, who started his hunger strike demanding reforms in medical education ten days ago, has postponed his agitation until the end of Dashain.
At a press conference last night, KC said his ‘satyagraha’ was called off for the time being because he did not want his protest to ruin the Dashain festival for the people.
He, however, said he would continue his strike after the Dashain festival is over.
Dr KC, started his ninth round of hunger strike on September 28 demanding that the CIAA chief Lokman Singh Karki be impeached. He has also called on the government to scrap its decision to appoint a new dean at the TU Institute of Medicine and implement a report on fixing fees for students at the institute.
