Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba on Wednesday proposed making NC lawmaker Arzoo Deuba the Foreign Minister. NC President Deuba proposed giving the important portfolio to lawmaker Deuba, who is his wife, during a discussion with Prime Minister and CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.
But PM is against installing lawmaker Deuba in the important position, a source close to Dahal said. His first preference is Maoist lawmaker Ram Karki, it said, adding: If the PM has to choose a candidate for the position from the coalition partner Congress, he would want Shekhar Koirala, in light of his important contribution to the peace process.
