Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said the talks government held with CK Raut and an agreement it signed with him were positive.

During a press meet organised by Nepal Press Union, Myagdi chapter, here today, the main opposition party leader said, “It is positive indeed to bring the secessionist group into the mainstream politics in a peaceful way.”

He, however, said the term ‘janaabhimat’ used in agreement could not be accepted as referendum.

“I’ve heard the government made the agreement with the agitating CK Raut, but not read all points. A referendum can not be held on issues concerning the territory of Nepal,” he underscored.

Also the former prime minister, NC President Deuba demanded that the government clarify about the point.

On a different note, he said he had not usurped anyone’s rights in the party.
