Deuba announces nationwide tour to reconnect with party members

Kathmandu, September 9

Former Nepali Congress president Sher Bahadur Deuba has announced that he will soon embark on a nationwide tour.

Addressing an interaction organised by the Nepali Congress Bhaktapur on Wednesday to mark the 133rd birth anniversary of BP Koirala, Deuba said he would travel across the country to meet party members and bring those who may have been confused or misguided back to his side.

“I will soon travel across the country, reaching out to friends in every district, village and place who may have been confused and bringing them to our side,” Deuba said. Deuba also said he was confident that he would receive justice from the Supreme Court. “While assuring you that I will travel across the country and once again stand with the people, I would like to sincerely thank those who have stood by us. I also express my confidence that we will receive justice from the Supreme Court,” he said.

Deuba said the love and support he received from the Nepali people after returning home following medical treatment abroad was not meant for him alone but for all genuine Nepali Congress workers. “When I returned to Kathmandu, I received such love, goodwill and support from the Nepali people. I did not receive it alone; all of you received it,” he said. “You received it. The genuine workers of the Nepali Congress received it.”

Deuba urged party members to move forward by considering the love and support given by the people as something they had all received collectively. “Therefore, we must all move forward together, considering the love given by the people as the love we have all received,” he said. Deuba also expressed sorrow over the loss of lives and property caused by the Bhote Koshi flood in Rasuwa on August 26.
