Butwal, June 2

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has accused the incumbent government led by Nepal Communist Party Chairman KP Sharma Oli of indulging in corruption.

The main opposition leaders says corruption was rife in wide body aircraft purchase for the Nepal Airlines Corporation, Budhigandaki Hydropower Project and Baluwatar land scam among others.

Speaking with journalists in Bhairahawa of Rupandehi district on Sunday, the former prime minister said the government channelised foreign assistance and grant to various projects that would benefit the party cadres through the new budget plan.

In another context, Deuba said the government brought the Media Council Bill to bar media from making public information about the government’s corruption.

He said his party would not tolerate interference in free press and judiciary.
