Nepali Congress Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi says Nepal’s democratic republicanism is in jeopardy due to communist parties and leaders in the country.

Addressing the party’s supporters currently living in Europe, at a function organised in Copenhagen of Denmark on Saturday, Nidhi said the communists did not have any trust in the federal democratic republican system.

“The system is at risk because of the leaders of the ruling party,” he said, “The communists don’t believe in federalism. Therefore they are openly speaking against the system.”

He added that recent bill registered by the government in Parliament were against federalism, the constitution, independence judiciary and free press.

The party’s general secretary Shashanka Koirala also spoke at the function stressing the unity among party leaders.

Meanwhile, other leaders of the party including Ram Sharan Mahat, Minendra Rijal, Bishwa Prakash Sharma, Dhana Raj Gurung, Bhishma Raj Angdembe and Govinda Bhattarai trained the cadres during the event.
