Kathmandu, September 29
The death toll from floods, landslides, inundations, and other natural disasters has risen to 132.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 68 deaths have occurred in the Kathmandu Valley, 45 in Bagmati Province, 17 in Koshi Province, and 2 in Madhesh Province.
In addition, 64 people remain missing, and 61 have been injured in these disasters. Thanks to the efforts of security personnel, 3,626 individuals have been safely rescued across the country, the Ministry reported.
Using Nepal Army’s helicopters, 193 people have been safely rescued from various locations in Kavrepalanchok since Sunday morning, after being trapped by floods, landslides, and other natural hazards. The Nepali Army has been conducting aerial rescues for the past two days to reach citizens in high-risk areas.
Home Ministry spokesperson Rishiram Tiwari stated that all available mechanisms have been deployed to reopen highways and roads blocked by the disaster.
