Kathmandu, September 27
Advance ticket booking for people wanting to return home for Dashain has opened from Monday.
The government has urged everyone to check the standard rates before booking tickets as it receives complaints of bus operators overcharging passengers every year during this time.
To make sure this does not happen, the Department of Transport Management has set up 14 help desks across the valley to assist people to book tickets in advance. These help desks are located in New Buspark, Machhapokhari, Swayambhu, Kalanki, Nagdhunga, Balkhu, Dakshinkali, Satdobato, Koteshwor, Jagati, Chabahil, Gaushala, Sundhara and Old Buspark.
These help desks will have transport entrepreneurs, traffic police, community police and officials from the Department of Transport Management.
The government has urged all passengers to report any issues they have at these help desks. It also says strict action will be taken against transport operators who overcharge passengers.
