An all-party mechanism will be formed to address issues arising from the disaster caused by the Bhotekoshi River floods in Rasuwa. An all-party meeting held on Wednesday discussed forming the mechanism within the next seven days.
Prithvi Highway set to reopen after 18 days
Two-way traffic is set to resume on the Prithvi Highway at Krishnabhir from 6 am Thursday. Transport operators, who have incurred losses running into tens of millions of rupees after regular services along the major highway connecting the capital were disrupted for two and a half weeks, have expressed optimism following preparations to reopen the road after repairs.
Two bodies found inside Chilime Hydropower tunnel in Rasuwa
Two bodies have been found inside a tunnel of the Chilime Hydropower Project in Rasuwa during an ongoing search and rescue operation. Rasuwa Chief District Officer Kamal Prasad Pandey said the two bodies were found during the search operation around half an hour before the latest update.
9 banks and financial institutions offer Fonepay virtual credit cards
The number of users of virtual credit cards offered through Fonepay’s network has reached 50,000, reflecting the growing use of digital technology for accessing and making credit-based payments in Nepal. The virtual credit card service, launched two years ago, is currently available through nine banks and financial institutions connected to Fonepay’s network. The service allows customers to obtain a credit limit through their mobile banking applications and make payments by scanning QR codes, eliminating the need for a physical card or point-of-sale (POS) machine.
MrBeast joins global fundraising effort to help Nepal
World-famous content creator Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, has launched a fundraising campaign for those affected by the Bhotekoshi flood in Nepal. The American YouTuber, entrepreneur and philanthropist said via an Instagram story that he and his team are raising millions of dollars in relief funds for Nepal’s disaster victims, and called on people around the world to join the effort.
