Kathmandu, June 29
Kathmandu Metropolitan City is busy these days, building parks in different wards as part of its plan to develop a park in every ward.
Currently, a park is under construction in KMC ward number 35, two each in KMC-7 and KMC-14 and one in KMC-18, Rabin Man Shrestha, chief of KMC’s Environment Management Division, says.
Some of the parks have already been constructed, while others are under construction, he says. Parks under construction will be ready by Asar 25 (July 9). KMC is planting flowers to beautify these parks.
KMC is also looking after saplings planted in Tripureshwor, Thapathali, Maitighar, Sundhara, Kalimati and Teku, during the 18th SAARC Summit. Around 100 of the 700 saplings planted at that time are no longer there. KMC has planted around 100 saplings in those places.
