Kathmandu, March 29
Nepal’s Election Commission is yet to fix polling stations in eight distrcits of Province 2 due to the Madheshi Morcha’s agitation.
Commission officials say that if polling stations are not fixed soon, distribution of voter ID cannot go ahead and the electoral roll cannot be finalised.
According to a deadline set by the commission, polling stations should have been fixed almost a week ago. The commission says it has requested the CDOs concerned to take the initiative to seek political consensus among parties to create an environment for polls.
