The Cabinet has taken six key decisions, including approving the Federal Civil Service Bill for submission to the Federal Parliament.
Government spokesperson and Education Minister Sasmita Pokhrel made the decisions public following the Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday afternoon.
According to Pokhrel, the Cabinet decided to accept a $20.7 million grant from the US government for health service improvement.
The meeting also approved the use of national forest areas for the Kamala-Dhalkeshwar-Pathlaiya section of the East-West Highway, the Garjan Khola Small Hydropower Project and the Balefi Khola Hydropower Project. Permission was also granted to use national forest areas for the construction of training academy units and border security posts of the Armed Police Force, Nepal.
The Cabinet approved the submission to Parliament of a bill to amend the Animal, Slaughterhouse and Meat Inspection Act. It also approved the Federal Civil Service Bill for submission to the Federal Parliament.
Similarly, the Cabinet approved a bill to amend the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act for submission to Parliament.
The meeting also decided to promote Joint Secretary Awas Shrestha Karna to the gazetted special class of the Nepal Administration Service and appoint him as chief secretary at the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Gandaki Province.
Likewise, Dr Jagadishwar Karmacharya was promoted to the gazetted special class of the Nepal Engineering Service and appointed secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
