Two bodies have been found inside a tunnel of the Chilime Hydropower Project in Rasuwa during an ongoing search and rescue operation.
Rasuwa Chief District Officer Kamal Prasad Pandey said the two bodies were found during the search operation around half an hour before the latest update.
He said the tunnel had already undergone a “breakthrough”, allowing search teams to access the section where the bodies were found.
Search and rescue operations have been underway at various hydropower projects in Rasuwa following the devastating floods of August 26.
Authorities have been searching inside tunnels and other structures after receiving information that people may have been trapped inside hydropower project tunnels following the floods.
The identities of the two bodies found inside the Chilime Hydropower tunnel have not yet been confirmed.
