Birgunj, August 15

Starting today, schools in Birgunj Metropolitan City have resumed physical classes, halted by the Covid-19 spread since April 29 of this year, for students up to grade 12.

The principal of Maisthan Bidyapeeth Secondary School, Dinesh Chaurasiya, informs that there was only 50 per cent attendance. The reason for such low attendance was cited to be the rainfall in the area.

Many private and some community schools were conducting online classes to minimise the impact of students’ education so far.

As the metropolitan reported fewer Covid-19 cases in recent times, it had already directed schools to make preparations to resume classes on July 30.

The classes are now being conducted as per the Framework of School Reopening, 2020, and with permission of the guardians, informs BMC Chief education administrator Arvind Lal Karn.
