Kathmandu, May 9
Two cadres of Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led CPN Maoist have been arrested in possession of explosives from Bharatpur Metropolitan City of Chitwan district on Tuesday.
Military deputy commander Puran Rai and area commander Shankar Gurung were arrested from Shivaghat, Bharatpur-4 this morning.
Police seized three grenades, a detonator, a fake pistol and some electric wires from their possession.
Police said Rai was deployed to carry out anti-election activities in Chitwan, Dhading, Rasuwa and Nuwakot districts.
Chief of the District Police Office Deepak Thapa informed that some iron rods, receipts and letters to be used for donation collection were also seized.
Further investigation is underway.
