Biplav-led group’s cadre succumbs to bullet injuries

Kathmandu, May 22

A cadre of the Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led group who sustained injuries in a clash with police has died in course of treatment.

Thirty-two-year-old Tirtha Raj Ghimire of Kudakkaule, Khadananda Municipality-2 of Bhojpur was hit by a bullet fired by police during an encounter at Dhodre forest, Timma at Temke Maiyung Rural Municipality-1 on Tuesday.

According to police, the Biplav-led group’s cadres opened fire at police and Ghimire was hit by a bullet fired in retaliation.

Chief District Officer Nurahari Khatiwada informed that Ghimire died in course of treatment at 3.30 am on Wednesday at the BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan.

Khatiwada said that Ghimire might have died due to excessive bleeding. The ambulance Ghimire was on got stuck at Bhaisipankha in the district after a boulder fell on the road.

Similarly, Biplav-led party’s Bheri bureau in charge Bal Bahadur Wali and five others have been arrested by police.
