The death toll from the Bhotekoshi flood has reached 939, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA).

As of 6pm Monday, 939 bodies had been recovered across the flood-affected areas, the authority said.

Chitwan has recorded the highest number of recovered bodies, with 279. Eastern Nawalparasi has reported 216, while 169 bodies have been recovered in Western Nawalparasi.

Similarly, 95 bodies have been recovered in Nuwakot, 65 in Gorkha, 55 in Dhading, 38 in Tanahun and 23 in Rasuwa.

According to the latest figures, 3,925 people remain missing.

The authority said 279 people have been injured so far, of whom 168 have been discharged from hospitals after treatment.

The Nepal Army has also provided medical treatment to 2,700 people, according to the NDRRMA.
