Four arrested in Kathmandu with 2,770 illegal vapes

Kathmandu, September 15

Police have arrested four people found in possession of illegal electronic cigarettes (vapes).

Those arrested are Purnalal Shrestha, 45, originally from Dhading and living in Chabahil, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-7; Shubham Gupta, 27, of Satungal, Chandragiri Municipality-16; Rajan Moktan, 19, originally from Ramechhap and living in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-3; and Saksham Shrestha, 19, originally from Panchkhal Municipality-9, Kavre, and living in Chyasal, Lalitpur.

The arrests followed intelligence from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, about the illegal storage and distribution of vapes across various parts of the valley. Police recovered 2,770 vape devices from the warehouses of RHS International Pvt. Ltd. in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-22 and Resha Collection in Chuchepati, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6.

The four have been sent to the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office for further investigation and legal action.
