ANFA postpones protest, memorandum submission and press conference

Kathmandu, September 15

All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has postponed a programme planned for Monday to submit a memorandum, stage a sit-in and hold a press conference.

ANFA issued a notice on Monday stating that the programme scheduled for 11 am at the National Sports Council (NSC) has been postponed until further notice due to “special circumstances.”

ANFA had planned to mobilise a team comprising its staff, referees, coaches and other stakeholders to submit a memorandum to the NSC and draw the government’s attention to the need to lift FIFA’s suspension of the football governing body.

The group was also scheduled to stage a one-hour sit-in before holding a press conference.

FIFA suspended ANFA on June 25, citing third-party interference in the association’s affairs.

The suspension has affected Nepali football activities since then, with the country’s football administration and competitions facing uncertainty.

ANFA had planned Monday’s programme as part of its efforts to seek government support for resolving the issues that led to the FIFA suspension.
