Kathmandu, June 23
At least five persons died in an SUV accident in Sahid Lakhan rural municipality in Gorkha on Thursday night.
Police said 12 were injured in the SUV accident.
The SUV (01-023 Cha 4427) was carrying the newly wedded couple and family members.
Chief District Officer (CDO) of Gorkha Dinesh Sagar Bhusal confirmed that four men and one woman died after the jeep plunged some 200 meters off the road.
The deceased have been identified as Pravin Thapa, Bir Bahadur Thapa, Niraj Thapa, Nabina Thapa and Dhan Bahadur Thapa.
There were 19 people in the SUV.
Lalu Thapa, who was seriously injured, has been referred to Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur, while 11 other injured are being treated at Anbu Khaireni Hospital.
