Kathmandu, January 8
The Nepali Army has directed its personnel in West Asia to remain alert amid growing tensions in West Asia following the assassination of Iranian general Solemani in Baghdad by an American drone attack.
The directive comes as Iranian forces attacked a US base in Iraq in response to Solemani’s killing. Nepali peacekeeping forces are stationed in Kirkuk and Irwil. In a statement on Wednesday, the army has also said all its personnel working in Iraq are safe.
