Kathmandu, June 7
Aloft Kathmandu Thamel is set to host a three-day Maharashtrian Food Festival from June 12 to 14, offering guests a curated experience of one of India’s most diverse regional cuisines.
According to the hotel, the festival will showcase traditional Maharashtrian dishes influenced by coastal, rustic and regional culinary styles, featuring flavours from Vidarbha, Kolhapur and the Konkan belt. The menu will include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian items, ranging from coastal seafood preparations and street-style snacks to traditional curries and desserts, including mango-based specialities.
The hotel said key spices and ingredients for the event will be sourced directly from Maharashtra to maintain authenticity. A live cooking station will also be set up during the festival to offer guests an interactive dining experience.
The event will be led by Chef Vikram, a Maharashtrian chef with 28 years of international culinary experience across hotels, including ITC Hotels, The Leela, Hyatt Regency and Andaz. He will be joined by Aloft Kathmandu Thamel Executive Chef Rajeev Shrestha, who has represented Nepal at international gastronomy events in France and the United States.
The festival will feature both set lunch and buffet dining options. The vegetarian set menu is priced at Rs 2,222 per person, while the non-vegetarian set menu costs Rs 2,555 per person. The dinner buffet, available throughout the three-day event, is priced at Rs 3,333 per person and includes a complimentary welcome drink along with a live cooking counter.
