Nepal to host AIPS Asia Congress on September

AIPS Asia Congress

Kathmandu, May 2

The 25th Congress of the International Sports Press Association (AIPS) Asia will be held in Nepal in September.

During a meeting held in Santa Susanna, the Nepal Sports Journalist Forum (NSJF) was entrusted with organising the 25th AIPS Congress in Nepal. Nepal, Malaysia, and Kyrgyzstan vied for the opportunity to host the congress, with Nepal emerging as the winner.

Previously, in 2016, NSJF hosted a meeting of central members of AIPS Asia.

President of AIPS Asia, He Don Jung, expressed confidence in NSJF’s ability to organise the congress, citing its track record of activity and effective programmes.

“To expand the reach of Asian sports journalism across Asia, Nepal has been selected to host the 25th AIPS Asia Congress,” said Jung.

This marks the first time the AIPS Congress will be held in Nepal, with participation expected from sports journalists representing over 30 Asian countries.

Reflecting on the opportunity to host the Congress, Devendra Subedi, president of NSJF, credited the hard work and efforts of all NSJF members.
