Kathmandu, September 27
A theatrical production titled Aayo Gorkhali will be staged at Sarwanam Theatre, Kathmandu, on September 28 and 29, beginning at 5:15 pm both days.
The play is directed by Mamunur Rashid, with the script written by playwright Mok Chiu Yu.
Aayo Gorkhali traces the history of Gorkhali soldiers, exploring their wartime experiences, sacrifices, and the broader themes of humanity, identity, discrimination, justice, and the pursuit of peace.
Spanning a narrative arc from the First World War through the Second World War and the Malayan Emergency to Hong Kong, the production frames war not simply as a soldier’s story, but as one intertwined with human suffering, identity, and the search for peace.
