Four local levels in Mugu and Humla cut off from communication

Humla, November 4

Service users in four local levels, three in Humla and one in Mugu, are facing difficulties after a Nepal Telecom relay tower developed a problem. The tower is located at Nathrpu in Soru Rural Municipality-1, Mugu.

The relay tower had been out of order since October 18. It was repaired, but the problem returned after five days, leaving Nepal Telecom users in the four local levels struggling once again.

Chankheli Rural Municipality Vice-chair Premkala Shahi said public complaints have grown as the network has failed repeatedly.

A Nepal Telecom tower at Jairbetal in Sarkegad Rural Municipality-1 has also stopped working. Pandav Budha, secretary of Ward 1, said residents in various parts of the municipality have been left without any means of communication.

Budha said the repeated failures of the Nepal Telecom tower have cut off three local levels in Humla.

Rinjin Lama, chief of Nepal Telecom’s Humla office, said the fault is in the relay tower at Sorukot in Mugu. She said a technical team has reached the site and repair work is underway.
