Kathmandu, November 2
The executive committee of the World Vegan Organisation Nepal has been reorganised, with the aim of bringing together businesspeople and organisations that follow vegetarian and vegan lifestyles under one roof.
Vice-president Kalyan Silwal said the organisation aims to promote a fully plant-based vegan lifestyle in Nepal and to foster cooperation and coordination among individuals, businesspeople and organisations working in the field.
According to him, the organisation will promote the vegan lifestyle and vegan businesses in Nepal. It aims to discourage businesses based on animal products and to encourage plant-based businesses and entrepreneurship.
Silwal said various public awareness campaigns will be carried out to discourage cruelty to animals, brutal killing, exploitation and violence.
He said a nine-member executive committee has been formed for now. According to Silwal, the committee will hold another annual general meeting within the next six months to make the organization’s direction, leadership and organisational structure more orderly and stronger.
