Gulmi, October 13
Regular flights at Resunga Airport in Gulmi, which had been disrupted for nearly four months due to adverse weather conditions, have resumed.
Nepal Airlines operated a flight from Kathmandu to Resunga on Tuesday morning as weather conditions improved.
According to Suman Thapa, station chief of Nepal Airlines at Resunga Airport, regular flights had been affected since May 24 due to persistently unfavourable weather in the mornings.
He said that with the onset of the monsoon, thick clouds and deteriorating weather conditions in the morning had made it difficult to operate flights according to the scheduled timetable.
According to Thapa, flights at Resunga Airport are usually disrupted for around two and a half months each year during the monsoon due to adverse weather conditions.
This year, however, unfavourable weather has disrupted regular flights for an unusually long period.
In view of growing passenger demand, Nepal Airlines operates regular flights on the Resunga–Kathmandu route three days a week: Sunday, Tuesday and Friday.
