Two more people have been arrested on charges of fraud in connection with promises to send people to Israel.
The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police arrested Gyan Bahadur Karki and Shivaram Shrestha. CIB SSP Anupam Shamsher Jabra said they were arrested from the Mulpani area.
With this, the number of people arrested has risen to four. The CIB had earlier arrested Congress leader Bharat Prasad Chaulagain and Shiva Kothari (Shivakoti) of Dolakha. The CIB has now called on anyone who has been victimised by them to file a complaint.
In a notice, the CIB asked anyone cheated by those arrested on fraud charges, including Chaulagain, to come forward with complaints.
A complaint filed with the CIB so far alleges that Rs 25 million has been defrauded. The accused are alleged to have collected money by claiming to have connections with an adviser to the Prime Minister and promising to send people quickly to Israel. The people targeted were those who had passed the caregiver examination under an agreement between the governments of Nepal and Israel.
