Kathmandu, October 7
The time for filing claims and objections against candidates for office-bearer and other posts at the 15th General Convention of the Nepali Congress has been extended.
According to the Election Committee, the deadline for claims and objections has been extended until 2 pm today.
During this period, candidates can withdraw their nominations or correct their candidacies, and can also file claims if their names were left out of the published list.
The committee had earlier set the deadline for claims and objections at 12 noon.
The process was somewhat disrupted when rain fell while the claims and objections for office-bearer and other posts were under way.
The rain has also affected the programme to pass four reports presented in the closed session of the 15th General Convention.
Delegates at the election venue and the closed session venue have scattered because of the rain.
The Election Committee made the preliminary list of candidates public this morning.
