
Kathmandu, October 7
The state-owned Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) and the Nepali Army have signed an agreement for the purchase and sale of milk and dairy products.
Under the agreement, the Nepali Army will regularly purchase milk from DDC for its barracks in 32 districts across the country.
According to the agreement, DDC will supply 10,251 litres of processed milk daily, amounting to 3.74 million litres annually, to the Army’s barracks.
The agreement also covers the supply of other dairy products. The Army will receive 365 kg of curd daily, or 133,522 kg annually, along with 37 kg of paneer daily, or 13,240 kg annually.
Similarly, DDC will supply 21 kg of whole milk powder daily, totalling 7,441 kg annually, and 15 kg of cheese daily, amounting to 5,278 kg annually.
The purchase agreement was signed on behalf of the Nepali Army by Brigadier General Sanjay Kumar Ranjit, Director of the Directorate of Supply and Transport, and on behalf of DDC by General Manager Dr Sharan Kumar Pandey.
