Kathmandu, October 5
Nepali Congress Binod Chaudhary has announced his candidacy for the post of party vice-president at the ongoing 15th General Convention.
Chaudhary said he decided to contest the election to help establish younger leadership in the party and begin a new chapter in Nepal’s economic transformation.
“The country is currently looking for young leadership. The Nepali Congress must establish young people in leadership through this general convention. At the same time, leaders with a clear vision for economic prosperity must be brought into the leadership to begin a new chapter in economic transformation,” he said.
Chaudhary said he believed such leadership could lead the country’s economic transformation in the coming years.
He also said his participation, from the party’s special general convention to the ongoing 15th General Convention, was aimed at helping establish younger leadership.
Binod Chaudhary said his candidacy was not merely about securing a party position, but about bringing economic development to the centre of political discourse and addressing the aspirations of young people.
“My candidacy is to bring economic development agendas to the centre of politics, address the aspirations of young people, demonstrate through action that the Nepali Congress can lead the country’s development through economic transformation, and make the Congress stronger, more modern and people-oriented by connecting it with the new generation,” he said.
He said political change alone could not bring transformation without clear plans for economic prosperity.
“Doing politics simply for the sake of politics cannot transform the country. For that, it is necessary to work on clear plans for economic prosperity. I am ready to take responsibility for economic prosperity,” Chaudhary said.
