The Nepali Congress will increase the number of joint general secretaries to 15.
Of the 15 joint general secretaries, nine will be elected under the inclusive representation system, two through the open category and four will be nominated by the party president.
One joint general secretary will be elected from each of the women, Indigenous Nationalities, Dalit, Madhesi, Khas Arya, Tharu, Muslim, backward region and minority/persons with disabilities categories.
The minority/persons with disabilities category was not included during the previous general convention. The party has also decided to elect deputy general secretaries through the open category, with two positions allocated for it.
The party president will nominate four joint general secretaries. The party statute has been amended to allow the president to appoint four additional joint general secretaries, including at least one woman.
