Kathmandu, October 4
Nepali Communist Party (NCP) coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said an understanding has been reached to work together with the CPN-UML and Masal.
Speaking at a programme organised by the NCP Bagmati Province Contact Committee in Kathmandu on Sunday, Prachanda said discussions were also underway with other leftist and patriotic forces on possible cooperation.
“We have already reached an understanding to move forward by coordinating with the CPN-UML and Masal,” Prachanda said. “We are also continuing discussions with other patriotic and leftist forces.”
Prachanda said his party was also taking initiatives to strengthen cooperation with the international community.
He said people’s lives had not become easier even after the election, arguing that the constitution and republican system were facing attacks.
According to Prachanda, political forces need to come together to defend the Constitution, the federal democratic republic and the rights achieved through past political struggles.
He said the current situation required all those committed to these achievements to unite and move forward together.
